Chapter 2WO Public Programme
Shock Forest Group (2019) is an international research team consisting of architects, cartographers, linguists, coders, urban planners, sound makers, biologists, designers and engineers. It is an experiment in open research, where the research categories surface as the research develops. It is also an experiment in alternative education, a classroom without a teacher, where learning emerges as a product of polyphony.

A new Improv Night brings Patrick Higgins to Het HEM.
On November 3 we welcome the New York based composer / performer for a special concert in which both light and sound play an important role. Higgins will activate the reflectors in the exhibition space during a two-hour live improvisation session.
Together with Nicolas Jaar, Patrick Higgins forms AEAEA, a new music project that focuses on the development of immersive musical environments. Patrick Higgins is a guitarist, composer, producer of experimental music. His divergent output has seen him reinterpreted classical composers such as Bach with his modern instrumentation, he composes for various large and small ensembles and is one of the core members of the New York based experimental band Zs.
Higgins is known for its unique approach to classical acoustic and electric guitar. The extended technique and electronic processing he uses create landscapes of electro-acoustic that are at the same time intensely emotional and strikingly alien.
During his ten-week Chapter, Nicolás Jaar invites several national and international artists to join him at Het HEM for a live performance in the exhibition space.
Tickets: €15,- (excluding entrance to the Chapter exhibition).
Would you like to visit the exhibition in addition to the lecture? Buy an entry ticket for the Chapter and reserve a time slot for Incomprehensible Sun online or at the counter.
