This Is How We Move
*We look forward to a bright future. After a challenging Corona year in which we lost a large part of our funding and had to postpone planned programmes, new support has been found to resume activities. From April 2021, Het HEM will open its doors again and welcome visitors with a broad programme of visual arts, music, design, gastronomy and social debate. *
With the help of a successful crowdfunding campaign and a financial injection of the mobility brand Lynk & Co, Het HEM was able to reopen in June 2020 with an adapted programme which consisted mainly of collaborations with other parties who could not go elsewhere due to the COVID-19 restrictions. 2020 has been a challenging year for us, but the fine collaborations with other cultural parties and warm reactions from visitors have always supported us in the conviction that Het HEM is worthy a bright future. We are very grateful to our partners for their confidence in our vision and cannot wait to reopen.
Although the uncertain times have not yet been averted and COVID-19 is still proliferating, the plan to continue our programme line and artistic ambitions for the next four years has nonetheless stood the test of time. Starting with Chapter 4OUR with Gast Simon(e) van Saarloos, with which we investigate how inclusion and accessibility for people with different preferences and possibilities can be increased within our own institution but also in society as a whole.
In addition to our extensive Chapter programmes, continuous attention will be paid to a broadly oriented music programme in the Dynamic Range Bar in our Living Room; ArtEZ's graphic design master Werkplaats Typografie has found a home in Het HEM and we are expanding our programme with various collaborative partners. Our friends at HotMamaHot remain partners in our café-restaurant and of course the permanent works of art of RAAAF and Levi van Veluw can be visited frequently again.
Our new opening hours are from April from Friday to Sunday from 12:00 to 00:00. We hope to see you again soon!
