During the Sonics Acts Biennale at the weekend of 7,8,9 October, you’re set up to experience the relation between sound and the current state of our environment.
During the weekend of 7,8 and 9 October, Sonic Acts presents the exhibition ‘one sun after another’ and the music art programme ‘Inner Ear(th)’ as part of the Sonic Acts Biennale 2022.
‘one sun after another’, (30 Sept. - 23 Oct., several locations) expands the long-term Sonic Acts research trajectory on the implications and origins of the climate crisis and focuses on the irrevocable, intertwined nature of pollution and time. Tomoko Sauvage’s Buloklok and John Grzinich’s Powerless Flight are two of the works that are temporarily on view at Het HEM.
‘Inner Ear(th)’ is extensive music and sound art programme at Het HEM. With contributions from more than 30 artists, Inner Ear(th) creates a space in which the natural and the artificial influence each other.
A highly remarkable part of the programme is the Acousmonium. This radical sound diffusion system by INA GRM is placed in the expo room on the first floor. During this weekend you can experience live shows and listen to music from INA GRM’s archive through this special set-up.
Throughout the surrounding areas, artists will further respond to the specific acoustic dynamics of Het HEM.
